I have decided to focus this blog on items that reflect my personal and developing aesthetic in the areas of comics, animation, and art in general. I will be re-blogging posts from creators whose work really speaks to me.
I may, from time to time, include some of my own work here, both drawn and written.
ENJOY and follow the folks I re-blog here, PLEASE!
These are some character drawings I did a little while back for a project I’m working on! It’s called Doom Cannon, and it’s kind of a riff on teen robot pilot cartoons (Voltron, Evangelion, etc). Like most illustration types, I think character design is one of the best parts of the job. I’ll probably throw a bunch of these up here!
At least there’s good company in Comic Book Limbo, home of the dead and retconned.
You deserved more stories, Damian. I’ll miss looking forward to seeing you every month.
Not only is this person a very talented artist, I really like the vibe of this piece!
Like anyone who’s ever been asleep I strongly believe that my dreams are better than your dreams.
Reading Georges Perec’s demented dreamdiary La Boutique Obscure (lovingly translated by Daniel Levin Becker) inspired me to pay more attention to my nocturnal life, so I’m trying to keep a semi-regular diary now. I very rarely remember the dreams, most of them too bleak and depressing even by my standards, and yes, I die daily. I could never keep a daylight diary, mainly because my life is of no interest to me, but the vagueness of dreams and the difficulty I have in remembering and piecing their disjointed bits together is great fun.
My Guardian comic from yesterday. Happy Easter.
Got turned onto this guy by Dan Berry’s “Make It Then Tell Everyone” podcast. Really digging his work!
