These are some character drawings I did a little while back for a project I’m working on! It’s called Doom Cannon, and it’s kind of a riff on teen robot pilot cartoons (Voltron, Evangelion, etc). Like most illustration types, I think character design is one of the best parts of the job. I’ll probably throw a bunch of these up here!

Reading Georges Perec’s demented dreamdiary La Boutique Obscure (lovingly translated by Daniel Levin Becker) inspired me to pay more attention to my nocturnal life, so I’m trying to keep a semi-regular diary now. I very rarely remember the dreams, most of them too bleak and depressing even by my standards, and yes, I die daily. I could never keep a daylight diary, mainly because my life is of no interest to me, but the vagueness of dreams and the difficulty I have in remembering and piecing their disjointed bits together is great fun.

While we didn’t get on as the series team, Boom and CN liked us enough to allow us to work with the franchise in another capacity. The fine folks at Hastings also dug our exclusive Fionna and Cake cover so much that they wanted to work with us again, too.

A good attitude gets you through the rough times, and also puts you in a better place for victories- big and small.
